Understanding How Simulcast is Charged with Dacast

Depending on your plan, you have a certain number of hours available per month to simulcast: 

• Starter: 5 hours 
• Event: 10 hours
• Scale: 28 hours
• Custom: 40 hours

Your simulcast time is updated every month. You do not accumulate unused hours. If you had 5 hours of simulcast time and 1 hour left over last month, you’ll get 5 hours back the following month, not 6 hours.

You will receive an email to let you know when you have passed the 80% usage limit and the 100% limit.

Buy more minutes 

If you need additional streaming hours beyond your plan’s allocation, Dacast simplifies the process with a straightforward “buy more” option. To buy more minutes, you can click on:

Once you click on “buy more”, you can simply purchase the amount of minutes you would like to have on your account.

Your purchase starts with a minimum of 1000 minutes, providing a base that you can customize to align precisely with your streaming demands. This scalability ensures that you have the necessary resources to accommodate your audience, whether you’re hosting a one-time event or running continuous live streams.

Never run out of minutes

You can decide to activate playback protection for simulcast from your plan page:

This feature allows you to activate a safeguard mechanism that automatically resets your minutes when they reach zero, in accordance with the number of minutes you’ve chosen.

If you don’t activate playback protection, and if you exhaust all your allocated minutes, your streaming session concludes. This ensures transparent management of your resources, allowing you to make informed decisions about your streaming priorities.
