Generally speaking, Dacast gives you the option to automatically record your live stream via our recording feature. With Dacast, you can record your live stream for up to six continuous hours at a time. You have the ability to manually turn this option “ON” or “OFF.”
If you want to make sure your live stream events are recorded each and every time, you simply have to turn this function “ON.”
If you don’t like every event you stream to be automatically recorded, just make sure to turn it “OFF” when you don’t want to record.
Once a live stream is done, the recording will also stop. The recorded mp4 file will be saved on your Dacast account as a VOD.
This feature can be found on the “General” tab of your live channel, under “Settings”:
We have two recommendations if you plan on recording a live stream event.
- Always check on your encoder settings as well as your internet connection via testmy.net. Do this to ensure smooth delivery of the stream, as well as the recording feature.
- Starting the live stream recording feature at least 5-10 minutes before the actual live event is always a good rule of thumb to follow.
